Job Title:   Machinist

About US:

Kakira Sugar Limited (KSL) is a leading sugar manufacturer in Uganda. KSL boasts of two sugar estates, one in Kakira – Jinja and the other in Kayunga.

Job Summary: The Machinist will make spare parts for machines as well as maintaining the already existing ones in good working condition.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Making of spares, repair and maintenance of machines.
• Make spare parts for machines in the workshop.
• Handle the fitting and repair of machines in case of emergencies or breakdown.
• Clean the machines that are going to be used.
• Lubricate machines by oiling them
• Custody of tools/equipment
• Keep the workshop tools and equipment in safe custody after duty.
• Training of students: Practically train and guide students during their Industrial Training.
• House keeping
• Adhere to the safety, health and environment policy of the company.
• Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the Workshop Supervisor/ Management from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• A Uganda Craft Certificate in Metal Machining from a recognized institution.
• A minimum of three (3) years working experience in fitting and machining spare parts from a busy workshop.
