Job Summary: As the head of technology, you will lead the design and implementation of the company’s digital strategy that meets the company’s business needs and delivers return on investment. You will be expected to contribute to benefits realization of effective and efficient IT operations, service delivery and digital products development and release.
As a Team Leader you will offer functional support and management of the Technology, Digital staff and other related resources to drive efficiency and the digitalization agenda. You will also lead a cross-functional team that includes Product Owners, Designers, engineers, external vendors and service providers to co-develop the digital products.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the in country senior leadership team and group team to identify ways IT enabled services can support the company in achieving its business and financial goals.
- Lead the design, delivery and continuous enhancement of high-quality IT enabled services and software solution.
- Lead the Technology and Digital Solutions team.
- Ensure compliance with government laws and regulations that apply to IT enabled services and systems.
- Liaise with other teams within and outside the Digital and Technology unit to negotiate timelines, deliverables and dependencies
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners and other team members to identify and socialize products and delivery risks.
- Mentor and coach junior Technology and Digital staff on the best practices.
- Collaborate closely on defining the appropriate solutions architecture for digital product solutions
- Manage the IT expenditure to drive efficiency and Resource Optimization.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications or relevant area
- At least eight years of relevant experience leading business software solutions and technology in a busy enterprise environment
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a technology role

Technical Skills
- Understanding of a CI-CD process, containerization, and virtualization related technologies
- Excellent programming skills in at least 2 modern programming languages/frameworks (1 B/E and 1 F/E), such as Node.JS, Java, Kotlin, Swift, Kotlin multiplatform, Reacts, or others
- Excellent knowledge of SQL and one common database technology, such as Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, CouchDB,
- Infrastructure knowledge including RESTful APls, Single Sign On, LDAP, Search Technologies (Kong, GraphQL, Swagger, Elasticsearch, Kibana, authO)
- Knowledge of pair programming, continuous integration and test-driven development
- Familiarity with the concepts and pattern choices for Micro services is a must
- Working knowledge and experience in API designs, as well as, standards and governance processes
- Working knowledge of micro services oriented architecture, event-driven architecture, software-oriented architecture and other modern architectural paradigms
- Knowledge of building highly scalable applications in a cloud-based environment and architecting for a cloud hybrid approach is essential
