Kakira Sugar Limited (KSL) is a leading sugar manufacturer in Uganda. KSL boasts of two sugar estates, one in Kakira – Jinja and the other in Kayunga.
Job Summary: The Fitter Machinist II will make spare parts for machines as well as maintaining the already existing ones in good working condition.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in making of spares, repair and maintenance of machines.
- Participate in the making of spare parts for machines in the workshop.
- Participate in the maintenance and repair of workshop machines.
- Work on emergencies/breakdowns as required.
Custody of tools/equipment
- Keep the workshop tools and equipment in safe custody after duty.
House keeping
- Clean the working environment and maintain good house keeping
Complying with safety measures
- Adhere to the safety, health and environment policy of the company
Other duties
- Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the Workshop Supervisor/Management from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Trade Test Certificate from a recognized institution.
- At least two (2) years working experience and knowledge in using lathe machines in a busy Organization.
