Job Summary: The Employee Relations Officer is responsible for managing employee relations activities, ensuring compliance with Ugandan labor laws, promoting a positive workplace culture, and resolving employee grievances.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement employee relations policies and procedures in line with the company’s objectives and in compliance with local labor laws
- Provide advice and guidance to managers and employees on employee relations matters, including disciplinary and overseeing the grievance process
- Collaborate with HR and management teams to develop and implement employee engagement initiatives, including employee recognition programs, wellness programs, training and development opportunities, grievance procedures, performance management, and employment law.
- Manage and resolve employee grievances, including conducting investigations, recommending solutions,
- Work closely with company recruiters to manage sourcing, interviewing, drafting contracts, and timely onboarding processes of casual employees.
- Ensure periodical communication of the company rules and regulations to employees including providing updates.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, including reporting requirements and maintaining accurate employee records.
- Stay up-to-date with changes to employment law and regulations and make recommendations for changes to policies and procedures as necessary
