Cycling out of Poverty (CooP-Uganda) supports students, health volunteers, farmers and small entrepreneurs with bicycles to improve access to basic needs and services as education, health care, work and income. We believe that a bicycle makes a difference in this world and is a huge contributor to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Our mission is to improve livelihood of African families by making bicycles and other mobility aids (such as wheelchairs, bicycle ambulances and cargo bikes) accessible and available for everyone in Africa.
Job Summary: We are currently looking to recruit a highly motivated, organised, responsible, accurate and independent working Field Officer, who will be based in Jinja. The Field Officer is responsible for: – executing our social projects in the communities, – manage relationships with the community, authorities and donors, – periodic reporting in written and verbal reports, photos and videos. Also, our project officers double as bicycle tour guides from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Diploma in community development, project management or other relevant social sciences.
- A minimum of one year of professional experience is preferred.
- A passion for cycling and conservation: must be able to easily ride 15 km by bicycle.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
- Excellent eye for detail, perfect accuracy and perfect and consistent in spelling and layout.
- Proficiency with office computer equipment and software.
- Experience in fundraising and experience with agriculture will be an added advantage.
