Job Summary: GIZ is recruiting an Energy Advisor to support in the implementation of its programme.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support in mobilization and identification of SMEs looking to invest in RE/EE financing
- Closely work with SMEs and support them in carrying out technical advisory for early-stage project development services such as energy assessments, feasibility studies and developing bankable proposals for identified RE/EE projects for access to financing.
- Developing concepts and strategies to stimulate market and investment for RE/EE technologies in SMEs and coordinate match- making and knowledge exchange
- Coordination of capacity building activities that support access to RE/EE finance for SMEs, development of green finance products by financial institutions, and other players on the supply side of the energy market.
- Support the team on implementation of RE/ EE energy professional development courses as well as RE/EE market-oriented courses in selected Vocational Training institute.
- Supervise and review expert input that supports the implementation activities of the skills & market development component.
- Maintain communication, visibility of activities and close cooperation with the partners, PREEEP team, the Energy and Climate cluster projects for coordination and implementation of synergetic and joint activities.
- Monitor project progress for implemented activities and proper knowledge management and achievement of outputs.
Other Duties/Additional Tasks:
- Performs other duties and tasks at the request of management.
- Uphold GIZ’s values of sustainable development, transparency, efficiency, and anti-corruption towards public, partners, government, private sector and institutions.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum degree in Energy, Engineering, Economics, or related fields
- At least 5 years of working experience in industry or engineering, preferably in project development, business development, market development, preferably in the energy sector.
- In-depth experience in project development (renewables or other industries) is a prerequisite.
- Certification in renewable energy and/or energy efficiency by international body is added advantage.
- In-depth experience in project development (renewables or other industries) is a prerequisite.
- Good working knowledge of ICT technologies, related software and computer applications, particularly good skills in MS Office, including excel, word, PowerPoint, database.
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English language
- Practiced knowledge on the topic of side auditing and specifically performing load measurements is an advantage.
- Excellent networking skills. Strong organizational, analytical, presentational skills and interpersonal skills
- Experience in consultant, supplier, and stakeholder coordination in a result – oriented manner
- Highly motivated to work in a multicultural environment.
- Excellent verbal and written English language skills.
- Strong organizational competence, administrative and event organization experience is a plus.
- Good working knowledge of ICT technologies, related software and including excel, word, PowerPoint, database.
