Job Summary:   Green Power International Ltd is seeking a talented and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of solar power systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of renewable energy in Uganda while working in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems for solar power projects, including grid-tied and off-grid systems.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to determine optimal system configurations and layouts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical components into overall system designs.
  • Perform detailed calculations and simulations to ensure system performance and efficiency.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of solar power systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during project implementation and operation.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Provide technical support and training to internal teams and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in solar energy and electrical engineering.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software, such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and components, including inverters, batteries, and wiring.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
