The Civil Society Budget Advocacy Group (CSBAG) is coalition of 100 Organizations, established in 2004 to influence Government decisions on resource mobilization and utilization for equitable and sustainable development. Civil Society Budget Advocacy Group (CSBAG) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting equitable and accountable budgeting processes in Uganda.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Communication Strategy Development:
- Identify key messages, themes, and communication channels to effectively reach diverse CSBAG stakeholders,
Content Creation and Management:
- Create compelling content for various communication channels, including website articles, blog posts, social media posts, press releases, and newsletters, to showcase CSBAG’s work, research findings, and advocacy initiatives.
- Manage CSBAG’s online presence and digital platforms, including the organization’s website and social media accounts, to ensure consistent branding, messaging, and engagement with followers.
Media Relations and Outreach:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets, and influencers to secure media coverage and amplify CSBAG’s advocacy messages and policy recommendations.
Advocacy Campaign Support:
- Provide communication support for CSBAG’s advocacy campaigns, including developing campaign materials, organising events and mobilising supporters through online and offline channels
Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Track and analyze the performance of communication activities, including website traffic, social media engagement, media mentions, and audience feedback, to assess effectiveness and inform future strategies.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in communication, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
- Proven experience in communication, media relations, or public affairs, preferably in the non-profit sector or advocacy organizations.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and persuasive communication materials for diverse audiences.
- Strong digital literacy and proficiency in using communication tools and platforms, including website content management systems, social media management tools, and email marketing software.
- Creativity, initiative, and a passion for social justice and advocacy.
