Job Summary: The Data Centre, Power Management and Passive Design Engineer will primarily implement and supervise Airtel Uganda’s core locations Operations & maintenance, Project design, activity planning, Core locations spares / Inventory control, Projects quality, Passive RFI & Survey, and Core location standards assurance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Passive Outage analysis, troubleshooting,
- RCA and reporting.
- Routine Power audits, checks and reporting.
- Preventive, Predictive & corrective maintenance implementation and supervision.
- On-site passive routine systems checks and reporting.
- Responsible and accountable for Passive spares at Core locations.
- Monitors the performance of passive contractors and ensures delivery within the agreed SLAs.
- Activity planning, impact analysis, and quality assurance.
- Make routine visits to review contractor performance.
- Ensures Core location standards are adhered to by all Location users.
- Passive Survey and RFI support.
- Project BOQs Validation.
- Suggests and innovates OPEX reduction projects.
- Implements, monitors and supervises key OPEX reduction projects.
- Taking stock of customer (internal/ external) requests.
- Reviewing customer requirements.
- Core location Access management.
- Ensure adherence to the company processes.
- Ensures compliance to partner contracts and escalates where improvements are required.
- Ensures Occupational health and safety standards adherence at all core locations.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor of Engineering degree or related fields.
- Professional Certification will be an added advantage.
- At least three years of work experience in a similar role.
- Exhibits a good level of creativity and resourcefulness.
- Is able to guide and transfer knowledge.
- Analytical and Presentation skills.
- Negotiation skills.
- Leadership Skills.
