Our mission is to provide quality medical care to patients, to fill the gap which is created by lack of adequate medical facilities in the country.
Job Summary: The Admissions & Discharge Officer will be responsible for both the admission and discharge process, providing patients and their families with clear information, support and guidance throughout their time at the hospital.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Schedule admissions for patients in accordance with physician recommendation and bed availability.
- Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information.
- Explain hospital policies and procedures to patients and families, including billing, insurance coverage, and visiting hours.
- Obtain informed consent for treatment procedures.
- Coordinate pre-admission testing and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed.
- Assist patients with getting settled in their rooms and connect them with appropriate nursing staff.
- Work collaboratively with the care team to develop discharge plans that meet the individual needs of each patient.
- Coordinate discharge activities, such as scheduling follow-up appointments, arranging transportation, and providing medication instructions.
- Ensure all financial obligations are settled or payment arrangements are made.
- Process paperwork and update patient records to reflect the discharge.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families as they transition back home or to a new care setting.
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of a Diploma in Nursing, Clinical Medicine & Community Health or related field
- Three years of related work experience
- Strong understanding of hospital admissions and discharge procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficient in computer skills and hospital information systems.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanor.
