Job Summary: This is a full-time role for an Accountant based in Kampala. The Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day financial tasks, including bookkeeping, maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. The role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work with numbers and financial data.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing taxes
- Producing and delivering monthly management reports
- Collecting debts
- Maintaining daily bookkeeping and record-keeping
- Overseeing importation procedures in Uganda
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Five to seven years of experience as an accountant
- Experience is accounting for projects within a manufacturing set-up
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Experience in bookkeeping and financial record-keeping
- Proficiency in using Quickbooks
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial calculations
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be Ugandan
