Job Summary: To meet the increasing demand for our books, KOBTA Publishers seeks to hire a qualified and experienced Design Assistant to carry out the following duties and responsibilities:
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Make identified corrections to typed manuscripts as required by the supervisor.
- Typeset the books to ensure the proper fonts, font sizes, styling, etc. are applied to the books.
- Lay out the books to ensure proper spacing and alignment.
- Design illustrations to be used in the books.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: The ideal candidate for this job should have the following:
- A minimum of Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE)
- Five years of experience typing, typesetting, book laying, and graphic designing.
- A keen eye with razor sharp attention to detail.
- Fluent in written English.
- Experienced in Microsoft Office packages, especially Word.
- Experienced in using Adobe InDesign, illustrator, and Photoshop.
