Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation -Uganda (Baylor-Uganda) is an indigenous not-for-profit child health and development organisation affiliated to the Baylor College of Medicine International Paediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI), a Network of paediatric HIV/AIDS care and treatment Children’s Clinical Centres of Excellence and international program offices in 11 countries across Africa and Eastern Europe.
Job Summary: The Prevention Officer will be responsible for planning, coordination and implementation of GC.7 (HIV/TB) project activities in the supported districts.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Take lead in planning, coordination and implementation of GC.7 (HIV/TB) project activities in the cluster districts.
- Provide technical assistance during implementation of the GC.7 (HIV/TB) funded activities through planning, mobilizing and on-site implementation of activities based on the project’s technical approach and national guidelines.
- Work closely with the Data Officers to update and maintain the GC.7 (HIV/TB) activity tracker regularly.
- Conduct timely documentation of achievements from activities implemented and ensure monthly and quarterly reporting of project achievements in collaboration with the Data Officers.
- Establish and/or strengthen collaborations with key stakeholders including; comprehensive partners, civil society, and district and community structures for effective and efficient implementation of the GC.7 (HIV/TB) project funded activities.
- Plan, organise and conduct periodic performance review meetings for sharing progress with stakeholders.
- Strengthen referrals and linkages between community service delivery points and health facilities for target populations for HIV, TB, GBV and other SRH services.
- Establish District Technical Working Groups (TWGs) and Community Quality Improvement teams to support implementation of risk reduction plans for targeted populations.
- Develop periodic work plans, budgets, activity trip plans on weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
- Represent the project in District meetings including extended DHT meetings, comprehensive partners’ meetings when invited and district technical working group activities where Baylor-Uganda is required to participate.
- Document project success stories, case studies and blogs for sharing with a wider audience.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities and or health related discipline.
- At least two years of work experience implementing AGYW/ABYM or DREAMS Initiatives is an added advantage.
