About US:
Law Development Centre (LDC) will provide legal education to lawyers and non-lawyers, undertake research in topical legal issues, contribute to legal reforms, produce legal publications, teaching materials and law reports, and also provide community legal services.
Job Summary: The incumbent will drive and carry out operational and preventive maintenance of LDC vehicles
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To drive LDC vehicle safely and chauffer LDC staff and official visitors to official destinations.
- To regularly clean the inside and outside of the vehicle
- To assist in transporting of official goods.
- To carry out routine maintenance, minor repairs and care of the vehicle.
- To run official errands and assist with other office activities
- To keep accurate and up to date records using the vehicle and fuel log sheets.
- To monitor and report the need for servicing the vehicle and renewal of insurance.
- To compile the log book correctly.
- To perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Estates Officer.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least four passes one of which must be in English.
- Possession of a valid driving license (class CM, CH,DM,DL or DH)
- Certificate in motor vehicle repair is an added advantage
- Certificate in Defensive Driving is an added advantage.
- At least five years’ experience as a driver in a public organization, NGO or reputable private organization.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be computer literate.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Time management.
- Must be physically fit.
