UGACOF Limited is a leading coffee exporter in Uganda which works with smallholder coffee farmers countrywide. While Ugacof core business is buying, processing and exporting of coffee to international buyers and roasters, they work in partnership with local/national and international organizations to support smallholder coffee farmers with the aim of increasing the productivity and quality of coffee produced contributing to improved livelihoods of these smallholders.
Job Summary: The Strategic Project Coordinator will focus on managing and enhancing our premium coffee supply chains in partnership with strategic clients. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams and ensuring the strategic alignment of projects with client and company sustainability objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Project Coordination:
- Develop, plan, and execute strategic client projects, ensuring alignment ab with company goals and client expectations.
- Effectively Manage timelines, deliverables, and project milestones, while maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders.
- Coordinate regular reviews of supply chain processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with sustainability benchmarks. Roll out and oversee Sucafina MVP and Starbucks MEL frameworks to track the progress and impact of sustainability initiatives.
- Analyze data to inform strategic decision-making and report findings to clients and internal teams.
- Oversee traceability protocols to ensure the integrity of our premium supply chains.
- Conduct monitoring and evaluation of sustainability practices in accordance with our internal standards.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in sciences, Mathematics, or an advanced subject, Post graduate qualification in Project Management, M&E, or Finance, and a certificate in a recognized project management methodology
- Five years of proven experience in project management, preferably within the sustainability sector of the coffee industry.
Competencies:
- Strong understanding of supply chain traceability and sustainability practices and knowledge of the Nespresso AAA standard and Starbucks MEL framework is required,
- Experience building and running large, complex projects ideally multi- stakeholder in agriculture and/or rural development, with a high degree of autonomy.
