Job Summary: Norvik Group is looking for candidates for the Senior Nursing Officer positions. The successful candidates will plan, direct and coordinate medical and health services. Sets and carries out policies, goals, and procedures for the department and evaluates the quality of the staff’s work. Develops reports and budgets for their Unit. Assures that the needs of the patients and doctors in the Medical Ward and associated areas are met, resulting in excellent outcomes. The incumbent will ensure transparency in all matters pertaining to facility.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement Nursing Care Services to the Private Wing patients
- Deploy Registered and Enrolled Nurses and ensure they provide the right services to the patient
- Ensure the ward has the relevant supplies and equipment all the time to facilitate service provision to the patients
- Requisition and account all supplies and equipment’s in the ward
- Mentor and coach Nurses under your jurisdiction to deliver quality services to the patients and care taker
- Ensure patients conditions are observed and documented for the Doctor’s attention all the time
- Plan, and Budget for the Ward activities and programs as per the Hospital Finance Management policy and procedure
- Respond to queries raised by clients and their stakeholders
- Carry out any lawful duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor and Management from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in nursing obtained from a recognized Institution of Higher Learning.
- Full registration with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council;
- Valid Annual Practicing License (APL)
- Minimum of four (4) years’ working experience as a Nurse of which two (2) must have been gained from supervisory position in reputable Health Institution
- Good working knowledge of nursing practices
- Health and Safety Management
- Good communication and people management
- Supervisory Skills
- Health risk assessment
- Customer care
- Coaching and Mentoring.
