Job Summary: Our client in the manufacturing space is seeking a highly skilled Senior Automobile Mechanic to take on a leadership role in managing their factory automobile workshop, overseeing a team of 10 mechanics. The ideal candidate should possess comprehensive knowledge of all car types, exhibit exceptional team leadership skills, and have extensive experience in car fixing, with a minimum of 10 to 15 years in the automotive industry and at least 7 years in a leadership role.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient utilization of resources.
- Supervise and mentor a team of 10 mechanics, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
- Conduct quality inspections on completed work to maintain high standards of service and customer satisfaction.
- Diagnose complex automotive issues and develop effective repair solutions.
- Coordinate with parts suppliers to ensure timely availability of necessary components for repairs.
- Keep updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in automotive repair and maintenance.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules for workshop equipment and facilities.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, inventory levels.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Handle vehicle inquiries and complaints professionally, resolving issues to ensure customer loyalty and retention.
- Participate in recruiting and training new team members as needed.
- Procure the right parts and products needed with the right prices for maintenance of the company fleet
- Identify good suppliers in spare parts as per recommended standards
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Senior Four Certificate or equivalent qualification in automotive mechanics or related field.
- 10 to 15 years of experience in automotive repair, with at least 7 years in a leadership or managerial role in a garage or similar setting
- Strong technical expertise in diagnosing and repairing various car types.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team towards achieving goals and targets.
- Solid organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in computer applications related to automotive diagnostics and repair.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
