Job Title:  Senior Accountant

Organisation: 102.7 FM Radio

Duty Station:  Masaka, Uganda

Reports to: Head of Finance & Administration

 

About US:

102.7 FM Radio is a new radio station that operates in Masaka.

 

Job Summary:   The Senior Accountant will lead the team in ensuring timely compliance with the regulatory obligations, overseeing the implementation of internal financial controls, planning, budgeting & forecasting.

 

The candidate will also play a coordination role between the company and the external stakeholders like external Auditors and others.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Audit;

  • Act as a liaison with internal and external auditors
  • Investigate and follow-up on discrepancies of audit reports & provide feedback.
  • Implement feedback from external auditors as detailed in the audit management letter

Regulatory Compliance

  • Timely submission of accurate & Complete tax returns & payment to the tax authority.
  • Timely and accurate submission of returns & payment to NSSF
  • Timely compliance with the obligations as required by local authorities.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports
  • Ensure proper recording of all transactions in relevant systems
  • Ensure proper record keeping of financial records and correspondences.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting & forecasting.
  • Oversee cashflow management & monthly bank transactions
  • Proper management of accounts receivable and payable

Management

  • Analyze recurrent issues from Clients provide logical lasting solutions
  • Monitor the staff adherence to internal control standards.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide guidance for improvement.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree with honors in Finance, Accounting, or any related qualification.
  • Professional accountancy qualification and membership
  • Three years of demonstrable experience in Accountancy field.
  • Good understanding of computer MS Office
  • Proficiency with systems used by the tax authority (Etax and EFRIS)
  • Proficiency wit accounting software like quick books.

NB: PAYE and 5% NSSF is deducted from each employee monthly.
