Job Summary: The Quality Assurance Manager will create and ensure the proper implementation of the guidelines, policies, and procedures to manufacture high-quality products and avoid defects. He/she will manage all aspects of Bodawerk’s product quality lifecycle including quality planning, assurance, control, and improvement.
- The Quality Assurance Manager ensures that products are produced accurately, consistently, and with high quality by overseeing Quality Planning, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Quality Improvement.
- He or She reviews requirements and develops a systematic plan to fulfil quality standards, identifies tools and techniques to quantify quality standards, and verifies processes to meet quality requirements.
- The Quality Assurance Manager ensures that products meet quality requirements over their entire lifetime by using statistical analysis. He or She drives improvement by requesting manufacturing change based on lessons learned.
- The position holder manages a team of 1 Quality Control Engineer and 6-8 Quality Inspectors. He or She interacts regularly with the Head of Research & Development, and the Head of Operations to define quality processes and systems.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creates and implements company quality standards and quality management system
- Accomplishes quality assurance objectives by monitoring, reviewing, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Achieves quality assurance operational objectives by contributing to information analysis.
- Meets financial objectives by estimating requirements, preparing annual budgets, and scheduling expenditures.
- Develops quality assurance plans by conducting hazard analyses and monitoring procedures.
- Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes.
- Recruits, leads, trains, and motivates a team of Quality Specialist and Quality Control Engineers
- Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, and compliance audits.
- Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarising information and trends
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical quality assurance or quality engineering roles within manufacturing, or renewable energy industries.
- Strong proficiency in quality management methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, APQP) and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
- Proficiency in database management with the ability to analyse big data to recognise/track trends.
- Experience in developing and implementing standards and controls.
- Experience with quality management system implementation and certification processes (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, able to lead cross-functional teams and drive change in a dynamic environment.
