Key Duties and Responsibilities:
General:
- Ensure the leadership for HSE aspect within the Geological Operations & Petrophysics team
- Ensure compliance with “Company Best Practices” for the well preparation process, operational follow-up and post well studies.
- Ensure geological operations are following authority regulations for operated wells.
- Manage & plan all the subsurface geological operations activities within affiliate.
- Major HSE contributor for subsurface geological operations through the accountability for pore & fracture pressure prognosis, and real-time monitoring of geological operations while drilling.
- Define the entity objectives in close collaboration and alignment with the GSR Manager.
- Guaranty that allocated resources are fitting to reach expected objectives
- Define individuals and collective objectives to continue improving the team performances.
- Participate in close collaboration with the GSR Manager in the carrier development plan for each persons of the entity.
- Contribute to the development of operations geology skills to improve the empowerment of the existing team.
- Ensure operational procedures and operations for well data acquisitions follow the HSE guidelines.
- Key actor for the WSOR process integrating Pore and Fracture Pressure studies, Shallow Hazards, and relevant mitigation measures.
- Ensure adequate data acquisition programs to achieve the well objectives by integrating security and at the lowest possible cost.
- Participate in the preparation of drilling operations budget and ensures procurement of data acquisition services (mud logging, wireline, LWD).
- Ensure geological operations are adequate with HSE rules and well objectives for non-operated wells.
- Ensure contractual conformity of data acquisition execution and expenditures.
- Optimize and challenge acquisitions programs and associated costs in operated drilling activities.
- Ensure the petrophysical interpretation reliability within affiliate thanks to reliable and good quality data sets acquired.
- Prepare and animate local SQM’s for Mud Logging, Wireline, LWD services in close collaboration with the affiliate drilling team.
- Ensure follow up of operational performance and associated costs for Mud Logging, Electrical Logging and Logging While drilling contractors.
- Ensure dispatching, analysis and proper storage of rock & fluid samples.
- Ensure the well data recovery& archiving and issuance of the final well reports in accordance with the relevant country regulations.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum BSc Hons Degree in Geology or other geosciences disciplines.
- At least 10 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, a significant subsurface operations experience (minimum 5 years) in domains such as Operations Geology, Petrophysics ,management and/or onshore drilling, a strong ability to work in a cross functional environment, excellent communication skills.
