GOPA Infra GmbH is an independent international consultancy rendering engineering and consulting services for infrastructure development worldwide on behalf of bilateral and multilateral financing agencies and organisations as well as for private clients. It focusses on the provision and operation of sustainable infrastructure in the core areas of architecture & urban development, transport & mobility, integrated solid waste management & circular economy as well as water. Particular technical expertise is used for projects that deal with climate change, post-conflict situations and migration.
Background:
The project will provide continued support to the rehabilitation and extension or new construction of water supply and sanitation facilities in Northern Uganda. This will be complemented by the implementation of CO2-neutral and climate-resilient water supply systems, as well as by the provision of WASH-facilities to schools.
Job Summary: Will be the overall manager and guide of all three Components. Will have a water supply-related (design and supervision) experience background and have respective experience in team leading. The TL will be responsible for all coordination, project management, guiding and coordinating the specific experts (timely and their necessary input), provide strategic directions to the team in all tasks as well as for editing all reports. The TL will dispose of proven oral and written communication skills.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Preferably an MSc or equivalent in water, wastewater, hydraulic engineering, or equivalent;
- Profound experience in internationally funded projects including close stakeholder coordination;
- More than 10 years’ overall working experience in the water/ wastewater sector;
- Five years of project management of similar internationally funded projects;
- 5 years’ experience in the design and/or supervision of similar water supply/ sanitation projects;
- International expertise (i.e. outside his/her respective home country and region);
- Regional experience: working experience in sub-Saharan Africa, experience in Uganda is an advantage.
