Reports to: Human Resource and Administration Manager

 

About US:

Yako Bank (U) Limited was incorporated in the Republic of Uganda in 2010 and licensed as a Credit Institution by Bank of Uganda in 2020. In September 2015, Yako got its license to operate as a deposit taking institution and started operations under the name Yako Microfinance (U) Limited. It upgraded to a Credit Institution in 2020 and was licensed to operate as Yako Bank (U) Limited. Yako Bank is owned by different shareholders and has been licensed by Bank of Uganda to provide savings and lending products to different clients.

 

Job Summary:   The Human Resources Officer’s primary responsibility is provision of administrative support, prepare staff payment and effective operational service covering specific HR Services and processes e.g. Staff on boarding, staff leave management, opening new staff files, keeping up to date records in staff files, filling, correspondence letters processing, confirmations handling etc

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the development and implementation of HR initiatives in the Bank.
  • Prepare and submit periodic staff payments including monthly payrolls, reconciliations, remittance an other mandatory & voluntary deductions.
  • Ensure efficiency in delivery of HR administrative duties by carrying out HR Operation management activities such as draft all HR correspondences, updating relevant HRIS,
  • Provide excellent service by responding to queries/complaints from staff regarding specific areas of HR service within the agreed SLAs
  • In liaison with the HR Business partner, coordinate and implementation staff welfare activities with relevant parties.
  • Promptness in report submission of all reports required within your portfolio Work within your portfolio in line with HR controls and Governance to achieve satisfactory departmental audit & risk grading
  • Being actively involved in recruitment by preparing a job description, posting ads, and managing the hiring process.
  • Support staff Develop planning and implementation
  • Support in grievance management in line with the bank policy




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant should preferably hold an Honors Business degree in Human Resources Management
  • At least three years of experience in HR practice
  • Prior experience in financial institution is added advantage
  • Knowledge of HR functions (Pay and benefits, recruitment, training and development ets)
  • Understanding of labor laws and disciplinary procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem solving and decision making aptitude
