Job Summary: The Warehouse and Repair Centre Technician will be responsible for receiving, storing, distribution of stock maintenance of the facility warehouse and technical repairs of all trade equipment. He/She will ensure that all terminals and peripheral equipment received is repaired according to manufacturer’s specification within the allotted timeframes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive goods by ensuring the quality, quantity and serial numbers of goods match the order form and warehouse transfer slip.
- Ensure that items in the warehouse are stored correctly and safely as per allocated zones making use of the appropriate equipment e.g. forklift and pallet jack. Driving and operating a forklift to move items within the warehouse is an absolute necessity.
- Monitor incoming and outgoing stock for obvious faults or defects and report these to the supervisor.
- Ensure correct products are picked as per picking slip, packed neatly and wrapped.
- Provide signed proof of delivery documents to Warehouse Supervisor.
- Schedule regular maintenance to be conducted on warehouse equipment (e.g. forklifts).
- Follow and adhere to process flows relevant to Field Service Department.
- Follow and adhere to process flows regarding repaired items, outstanding repairs due to unavailability of spare parts, logistics parts recycle process.
- Assist with retailer calls and trouble shoot problems via the telephone before logging a call to Field Agent for assistance.
- Replenish all cleaning equipment and monitor the test jigs and software.
- Comply with all ITHUBA Uganda’s Health and Safety policies
- Assist business with all other technical queries.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in a Technical (Electronics) field or any other related field.
- Two years of experience in warehouse distribution operations and forklift handling.
- Two years of experience within the facilities and technical environment.
- Two years of experience in technical and electronic repairs.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and goal-oriented.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with driving experience of at least 1 year.
