Job Title:    Cartographer (Fresher Jobs)

About US:

Kampala Capital City Authority is the legal entity, established by the Ugandan Parliament that is responsible for the operations of the capital city of Kampala in Uganda. It replaced the Kampala City Council.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent will be responsible to the Supervisor Mapping and Geographical Information Systems for performing the following duties:-

• Updating cadastral, topographic maps and physical development schemes;
• Collecting, analyzing, interpreting geographical and spatial information from surveys;
• Plotting planning schemes on the topographic maps and area development plans;
• Plotting surveys on public land on cadastral maps;
• Conducting geographical research and compiling data for producing maps;
• Designing maps, graphics, illustration and layouts of landscape features;
• Designing, maintaining and manipulating Geographical Information databases for landscape features;
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• An Honors Bachelor’s Degree in either Geomatics and Geo informatics, or Land Surveying cartography; or Geography with a bias in Cartography from a recognized University /Institution.
• A minimum of 2 years working experience in a relevant field.
• Age: above 25 years

• Where the designated recommending Officer/Responsible Officer is reluctant or declines to provide a recommendation, the applicant should clearly indicate the reason(s) on the extract of PSC Form 3 (2008) and submit it online without the recommendation
• Falsification of documents will lead to automatic disqualification.
