Job Title:  Agronomist (Fresher Jobs)

Organisation: Gulu Green Corridor Farm

Duty Station:  Amuru, Uganda

About US:

Gulu Green Corridor Farm is an organic Farm producing vegetable, legumes and cereal for commercial purposes.The Farm is located in three districts of Amuru, Omoro and Gulu City being the Head Office and Logistic center and has been in production since 2016 by Founder Mr.Onen Samuel who’s Consultant in Sustainable Agriculture due to vast skills obtained from world Class institutions.

Job Summary:   This is a full-time hybrid role, implying that the Agronomist role is located in Amuru but some remote work is acceptable. The Agronomist will be responsible for planning, designing, and managing crop production on the Gulu Green Corridor Farm. The Agronomist will also be responsible for monitoring and controlling pests and diseases, coordinating with other departments within the farm, and making sure that crops are grown in a sustainable manner.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Diploma in Crop Science or higher in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of crop management techniques and best practices for crop production in the region
• Knowledge of soil health management and proven record of managing soil fertility on farm
• Familiarity with harvesting, storing, and processing crops
• Experience using agricultural technology and software
• Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to travel to different farm sites as needed
• Experience with sustainable farming practices is preferred
