Job Title:    Officer Geographical Information Systems (Entry Level Jobs)

About US:

Kampala Capital City Authority is the legal entity, established by the Ugandan Parliament that is responsible for the operations of the capital city of Kampala in Uganda. It replaced the Kampala City Council.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent will be responsible to the Supervisor Physical Planning for performing the following duties:-

• Carrying out spatial data collection, capturing, analysing and storing of the spatial information;
• Designing a spatial database of Kampala Capital City and providing backstop services to all stakeholders;
• Developing spatial data collection tools for all KCCA projects and Directorates;
• Monitoring space allocation, data placement and creating of a data dictionary;
• Liaising with relevant agencies so as to ensure effective implementation of Government policies on spatial data infrastructure;
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honors Bachelor’s Degree of Science in either Geographical Sciences; or Environmental Sciences; or Geomatics and Geo Informatics; or Land Surveying; or Land Management from a recognized University /Institution.
• Applicants should have a minimum of 2 years relevant working experience in the relevant field
• Age: 25 years and above

• Where the designated recommending Officer/Responsible Officer is reluctant or declines to provide a recommendation, the applicant should clearly indicate the reason(s) on the extract of PSC Form 3 (2008) and submit it online without the recommendation
• Falsification of documents will lead to automatic disqualification.
