GRM is a social enterprise, creating awareness about the vulnerable situation of the rural youth in Ugandan societies and empowering them to become economically independent, self-determined, and able to stand up for their rights. GRM was founded in October, 2020 by Grace Julius Ssembatya. This was a time, one of the biggest global crises in generations, the COVID-19 pandemic had severe and far-reaching repercussions for health systems, economies and societies. Countless people died, or lost their livelihoods. Families and communities strained and separated. Children and young people missed out on learning and socializing. Businesses went bankrupt. Millions of people fell below the poverty line.
Job Summary: This is a part-time remote role for a Director of Fundraising. The Director of Fundraising will be responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies, building relationships with major donors, overseeing annual giving campaigns, and conducting strategic planning for fundraising initiatives. The role will involve remote work and require effective communication and coordination with the GRM team.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Previous experience in working with major donors and managing donor relationships
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of philanthropy and fundraising best practices
- Experience in planning and implementing annual giving campaigns
- Ability to develop and execute strategic fundraising plans
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Experience in the non-profit sector is a plus
