About US:
Kampala Capital City Authority is the legal entity, established by the Ugandan Parliament that is responsible for the operations of the capital city of Kampala in Uganda. It replaced the Kampala City Council.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent will be responsible to the Director Physical Planning for performing the following duties:-
- Developing and implementing physical planning and development guidelines for KCCA;
- Developing a system for capturing both physical and social-economic development data for planning purposes;
- Designing and implementing a system for providing City planning related information to both stakeholders in and outside the City as per the Authority’s guidelines;
- Coordinating the land title processing and procedures as per the KCCA objectives and any other applicable laws;
- Coordinating Physical Planning and Land Management issues with the outside institutions;
- Monitoring the performance of staff in the Department as per the KCCA Human Resource Management Manual;
- Preparing work plans, budgets and performance targets and reports of the Divisions;
- Managing performance and development of staff under his/her direct supervision as per the Human Resources Performance Management Policy;
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Planning; or Land Use Planning; or Regional and Urban Planning; or Urban Planning and Design and Spatial Planning from a recognized University/Institution plus a Masters Degree in any of the above fields from a recognized University/Institution. Specialized training in Urban Planning will be an added advantage. Applicants must be registered with the relevant professional body.
- Applicants should have a minimum of nine (9) years relevant working experience in Physical Planning and Land Usage, three (3) of which must have been gained at Assistant Commissioner or Head of Department level in Government. Applicants should have understanding of relevant laws and regulations
- Minimum Age: 35 years

- Strategic Thinking, Negotiation Skills, Team Building, Conflict Management, Policy Development, Change Management, Research and Project Management Skills.
