The Vision Group incorporated as the New Vision Printing & Publishing Company Limited (NVPPCL), started the business in March 1986. It is a multimedia business housing newspaper, magazines, internet publishing, television, radio broadcasting, commercial printing, advertising and distribution services. NVPPCL is listed on the Uganda Stock Exchange, with an expected turnover of over UGX 60 billion (FY 2010/2011).

 

Job Summary:   The New Vision Printing & Publishing Co Ltd is desirous of acquiring debt collection services from individuals under the following terms of reference.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Debt collector shall use all reasonable endeavours to recover the debt on behalf of the Company and will, if and when necessary in the event of court action work with the Company’s Legal Office to ensure adequate representation for the company in court.
  • The Debt collector will keep the Company informed on a regular basis of its progress in recovering the debt and will inform the Company within Two (2) days of any and all sums recovered.
  • The Debt collector shall hand over all cash and monetary instruments collected to the Company within 48 Hours of collection.
  • The Debt collector shall not enter into any agreements, compositions or schemes and costs for the Company for the schedule of the debt recovered without prior consent of the Company.
  • The Debt Collector shall ensure that all debtors’ cheques are drawn in favour of the company. Such cheques when collected will be handed over to the company within 48 hours of recovery.
  • The Debt collector shall make and deliver monthly progress reports to the Company.
  • The Debt collector shall disclose all information incidental to the execution of the contract.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a debt collector
  • Experience in working with targets and tight deadlines
  • Working knowledge of MS office and Accounting software
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and people skills
  • Ability to be polite and compassionate without lacking confidence
  • Must have an accounting background and a degree in Business Administration, Bachelor of Commerce, economics or Statistics is key.
