About NPHC Census:
Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS), a semi-autonomous body, will be implementing the enumeration exercise of National Population and Housing Census (NPHC) 2024 from 10th May 2024 to 19th May 2024 with the night of 9th May 2024 as the Census Night in accordance with the Uganda Bureau of Statistics Act 1998, to promote the production of reliable official statistics and ensure the development and maintenance of the National Statistical System. The Census results will provide bench-mark socio-demographic data at all administrative levels necessary for general administration and the planning process.
Job Summary: The Stores Assistant will implement systems for safeguarding census assets and stores items in line with UBOS corporate objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in the inspection and receipt of all inventories.
- Participate in loading and offloading of stock during dispatch and retrieval.
- Participate in sorting, shelving, and packaging of stock.
- Participate in engraving/Tagging of Assets and maintain a census inventory database.
- Ensure timely issuing stock to field Teams and generate weekly reports.
- Ensure that stock cards are in place and stores are chronologically arranged/labelled.
- Ensure timely posting/updating of stock issues and management of census stores records in a bid to provide a high level of accountability in line with the Stores Manual
- Carry out regular reconciliation between stock records, inventory database, and physical stock.
- Ensure that stock cards are in place and stores are chronologically arranged/ labelled.
- Ensure the neatness of stores and stock at all times.
- Participate in the stock taking exercise.
- Carry out other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Diploma in Stores Management, Purchasing and supplies, Commerce or Business Administration
- Possession of professional qualifications in procurement and management would be an added advantage
- Should have at least one (1) years’ experience in a similar position. Other requirements
- Should be a person of high integrity.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Team Player with high quality inter-personal skills and ability to work under
