Job Summary: The Quality Control Executive (Coffee) will implement and supervise quality control and quality assurance operations of the company and ensuring compliance to the food safety requirements as per the established Quality/safety standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To supervise the timely sampling and accurate analysis of incoming raw materials, in-process goods and packaging material to ensure that each lot/batch received and processed conforms to the company specifications.
- To ensure coffee is properly graded and screened as per the specific standard screens and grades to ensure adherence to export quality standards.
- To ensure processing lines are in excellent hygienic conditions and verifying that lines are sufficiently cleaned before commencement of the process and ensure all necessary line clearance records are updated on time.
- To ensure product processing, handling, flow and segregation based on Organic principles and the in-storage goods are kept as per Food Safety and Quality standards.
- To supervise the packing of the finished goods ensuring that all the bags are verified as established in the FSQMS procedures.
- To ensure that current GMP and GHPs are strictly followed in order to meet the quality and safety standards of the products.
- To ensure cargo trucks are inspected and verified for cleanliness and suitability to safely transport organic food as per established Safety and Quality control standards.
- To Supervise Rodent and pest control activities in order to ensure that there is zero infestation in the process and storage areas.
- To work hand in hand with third party Inspectors in product sampling, certification, loading and dispatch in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Carry out proper documentation and record keeping by ensuring that all the necessary records are completed and filed as required, both soft and hard copies.
- Ensure that all measurement equipment and instruments in IPQC stations are well maintained and calibrated so as to give accurate results at all times.
- Train workers on quality and Food safety related matters while promoting quality policies and objective to keep them updated, knowledgeable, increase awareness, motivation, and involvement.
- Making regular reports to the Quality assurance manager about any nonconformities observed in the operations in order to ensure the safety and quality of the product.
- To participate in internal and external food safety and quality audits of the site.
- Any other official duty as may be assigned by superiors from time to time
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a B.Sc. in Industrial Chemistry, Science Technology (Biology, Chemistry) or Biochemistry, Food Science & Technology, Agro-processing & Agri- Business.
- Diploma in any of the above with demonstrated hands on quality control experience of >3years in coffee processing and supply chain can be considered.
- Certificate in Coffee Quality Grading is added advantage.
- Minimum 2 Years of experience in Quality Control in Agro-processing majorly Coffee and Cocoa Processing.
- Excellent knowledge of Coffee, Cocoa Export Standards, Food Safety Standards, Quality Management System Documentation and Food Safety Audits is required.
