Job Summary: The Regional Commercial Supervisor is responsible for the overall management of the Hubs, planning, implementing and tracking sales at the hubs, Agro dealers/ Agro Vets and Master agents (MAs). Sourcing and buying of grain in and out of season. Ensuring Retailers and Farms have all the inputs they require from Grainpulse. The job holder is responsible for all the districts’ targets and plans. He or she is expected to sell the product in their districts at a margin and ensure it is also sourced at a profitable price.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Performance
- Achievement of monthly set targets for both Agro -inputs, Animal feeds, Grain and all other company products
- Management of all Master Agents in the designated region
- Development of Village Agent (VA) model and train all Village Agents to promote the sale of agro-inputs and source grain at the end of the season
- Monitoring the Village Agents’ Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) ensures that the farmers profiled are buying Agro-inputs at the beginning of the season and also selling back grain at the end of the season
- Tracking and managing the major commercial farms in the designated region by ensuring that Grainpulse products and services are offered in those farms and that Grainpulse can also source grain from those farms
- Make sure that all Agro dealers’ outlets in the designated region of operation are well stocked with Grainpulse products
- Stock management at the hubs
- Adherence to company operational guidelines
Visibility and Availability
- Fully brand the Hub/ store outlet and have it well maintained and fully functional at all times
- Visibility and availability of all GPL products and services in the channels of distribution in the designation region of operation
- Drive awareness through the trade channels in the designated region of operation Set up demonstration plots in strategic areas of the designated region and ensure
- they are well-maintained and labelled at all times
Identifying Business Development opportunities
- Carry out market analysis and competition in the designated region
- Identify opportunities through partnerships with relevant stakeholders
- Identify new product lines and the customers’ needs and analyse their business viability
- Identify new channels that the business can start focusing on
Participation and planning of Agricultural Events
- Design the annual calendar of agricultural events in line with the business needs of the designated region of operation
- Develop a strategy for marketing activities in the designated region of operation and Get budget sign-off before the beginning of the season.
- Acquire stakeholder buy-in for the events
Stakeholder Relationship Management
- Effective management of stakeholder relations inclusive of but not limited to the following:
- Master Agents
- Agro Dealers
- Agro Retailers
- Commercial farmers
- Village Agents
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate must have a Business-Related field, and possessing a Certificate in Agriculture is an added advantage. He or she must possess more than five years of sales working experience, and possession of 1 year in a related field is an added advantage.
- The ideal candidate must be knowledgeable in customer relationship management, have a good command of English, and be able to communicate in multiple Ugandan local languages.
- In addition, the ideal candidate must possess interpersonal, communication, planning, decision-making, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- This job involves extensive driving upcountry and in rural areas; therefore, the ideal candidate must possess a valid driver’s license and have at least three years of driving experience in a manual transmission vehicle.
