The National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) is mandated to coordinate, oversee and guide agricultural research in Uganda. Over the years, NARO has generated technologies and products with Intellectual Property (IP) and commercial potential guided by relevant policies under her mission of innovating for sustainable agricultural transformation.
Job Summary: The Records Assistant will keep files, correspondences and records; and dispatch mails to relevant officers for action.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- File records and documents in alpha/numeric order as well as according to subject matter.
- Sort, file, folio, store, retire, check, correct and ensure that documents and other records are secure and accounted for.
- Classify files and records according to a predetermined coding system to facilitate rapid and accurate filing and retrieval.
- Opening, labeling and replacing worn out file covers.
- Register and track file movement in the file movement register.
- Receiving, opening, recording and dispatching and delivering mails.
- Undertake periodic identification of completed and finalized records and ensure proper archiving.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicants for the National Agricultural Research Organization job should hold a Diploma in records management from a recognized Institution
- At least three years of working experience in a recognized institution
