Job Summary: The Manager Workplace Banking will be responsible for the interpretation and implementation of the overall scheme management strategy to support all segments in personal banking in the growth of all personal banking products and propositions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive initiatives under workplace banking aimed at achieving business targets in line with the Bank strategy for Mortgage and Personal Banking.
- Structure and review scheme proposals and negotiate terms with customers and where appropriate recommend approval respectively.
- Initiate and recommend product development and procedure refinement ideas to meet the dynamic needs of the workplace market and improve turnaround time in consultation with the line manager and Head of department
- Monitor scheme portfolio quality to minimize movement to NPA and ensure compliance with approved terms and conditions, credit policies, procedures and the regulatory framework and standards.
- Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with stakeholders in the workplace and any other related professional bodies.
- Manage and report the performance of staff under direct supervision in accordance with the Performance Management guidelines of the Bank.
- Provide management support and necessary tools to the Relationship Managers Workplace Banking, Personal Bankers, and Direct Sales Officers in order for them to achieve business objectives across all segments, functional areas and channels.
- Develop, review, and implement methods of improving operational efficiency in schemes.
- Lead and maintain visible and active presence in the market to establish new scheme relationships and optimise the existing relationships.
- Initiate and implement an effective scheme risk management framework in line with the bank’s risk management and credit policy.
- Formulate and implement of a sales action plan to guide and motivate sales efforts of the Relationship Managers/Sales Officers/Personal Bankers to achieve business growth.
- Analyse daily activity reports and sales results from Workplace Banking Relationship Managers and provide periodic update for management action.
- Work with the Marketing and Communications department to produce annual marketing plans to support the workplace Banking business strategies.
- Coordinate the schemes sales activities with the Team Leader Direct Sales.
- Foster a team approach by actively building strong working relationships at all business levels to build and motivate a highly performing team.
Financial Responsibility:
- Devise strategies to grow the customer base through bulk account acquisitions.
- Defend and grow the consumer loan book by achieving loan value set targets in the managed employers. Person Specifications
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold an honours degree in business or any other related field from a recognized university
- Post-graduate qualifications / Professional Course in relevant discipline would be an added advantage
- At least seven years of experience in banking, preferably progressive experience in credit and lending environment
- Knowledge of customer profiles and understanding of business cycles
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the Personal Banking markets
- Problem solving, analytical and report writing skills
- Excellent planning, organizational and presentation skills
- Business development skills and negotiation skills
- Understanding of risk management.
