Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Help Client Rwanda and Uganda, understand the Card Issuing Value Chain
- Provide input to the documentation of the processes for the operations value chain for an Issuer which includes customer onboarding, activation, transaction processing and other processes within the value chain, including reconciliation process for an Issuer
- Support the Issuer with project management activities related to operational processes documentation and training.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer of all the operational activities within the clients group entities (Rwanda and Uganda) through a train the trainer approach
- Provide input to training material to be documented by Client Learning and Development Team
Secondary Role:
- Manage and monitor project schedules, risks and ensure timely resolution of any issues or deviations from project plans
- Coordinate and facilitate project meetings and project status reports with Mastercard and other stakeholders to ensure timely execution of activities
- Ensure project documentation is up-to-date, complete, and accessible to all stakeholders
- Communicate project progress and risks to stakeholders, including senior management
- Build and maintain relationships with project vendors and workstream owners, ensuring their work is aligned with project objectives and deliverables
- Ensure project deliverables meet the required quality standards, including conducting final quality reviews and sign-off from the client
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., business, technology)
- Expert level understanding of the card issuing value chain and the various processes within.
- Seven years of experience in Issuing operations of a bank/fintech
- Extensive experience working on payment product/processes and new issuer launches in multiple markets in SSA region
- Strong knowledge of process design methodologies
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving & analytical skills, with the ability to identify & manage project risks
- Experience managing schedules and resources, with a focus on delivering projects on time to the required quality standards.
