Job Summary: The Systems Administrator role is to evaluate, implement and support the High end and Mid- Range IT Infrastructure in line with Bank’s Vision and provisioning Highly Available Server infrastructure for the Critical Server systems. Ensuring infrastructure is available for the business Continuity and manage 24×7 Data Centre operations and High-End Infrastructure SLAs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Systems Architecture (20%)
- Planning and Designing of the Cloud Infrastructure, Servers, Storage, Linux/Unix, Windows, Microsoft Office 365, Web Marshal, Virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V) and Datacenter requirements as per the business plan and technology, and ensure that servers and Data Centers are properly monitored and administered.
Systems Configuration/ Deployment (20%)
- Installation/configuration of Cloud Infrastructure, Servers, Storage, Linux/Unix, Windows, Microsoft Office 365 Monitoring and Capacity Planning as per the IT Polices/ Standards and provide guidance to the users on its features and usage in order to ensure its proper use and improvement in performance.
Systems Support/ Patch Management (20%)
- Support, Maintenance. Patching and Administration of servers (both physical and virtual), including hardware, OS (Windows), SAN Storage and Linux and Windows products e.g Ansible and O365.
Active Directory/ Group Policy Management (10%)
- Maintain Active Directory such as creating accounts, troubleshooting authentication, configuring domain controllers, managing DNS and DHCP, and implementing group policies.
Desktop Support (10%)
- Desktop support – serve as an escalation point and backup for activities including direct end-user support.
Project Management (10%)
- Manage projects related to Cloud Infrastructure, Servers, Storage, Linux/Unix, Windows, Backup and Monitoring.
Business Continuity (10%)
- Disaster readiness is maintained as agreed and ensures regular DR exercise is done
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
- Professional qualifications in IT e.g. Az-109, RHCSA, VCP, ITIL, MCSE, A+, MCITP, MCP, Other relevant professional qualifications in IT field would be added advantage.
- Project Management certification and experience is preferred e.g. PRINCE2, PMP Desired work experience: Cloud Infrastructure competencies i.e Azure, AWS, GCP, Oracle Cloud e.t.c
- At least three years of working experience in a busy IT environment with a hands-on role in implementing and supporting Exchange 3PAR Storage; Proxy Server; Mail Marshal; Web Marshal; SharePoint; Skype for Business; Virtualization
- Linux platform experience i.e. Ansible, Satellite etc.
- Experienced in Windows Enterprise servers and UNIX systems.
- Hyper-V/VMware or other virtualization platforms
- Server Platforms (rack mount and blades)
- PowerShell scripting
- MS System Center (SCCM, SCOM) Configuration
- Office 365 (Exchange Online, One Drive for Business, SharePoint Online) and Active Directory Services
- 3rd Party Vendor Management Working experience in a bank or other financial services organization would be added
