Job Summary: The Security Officer will create and maintain a secure environment through proactive measures, vigilance and effective response to security challenges of the Bank thereby contributing to the safety and well-being of the staff, visitors, customers and the protection of Bank assets. In addition, the security Officer serves as first responder and initial investigator for security related matters withiin their jurisdiction.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implementation of the Bank’s security policy, enforcement of standards, controls, processes and regulatory determined procedures, for physical security and safety.
- Taking part in and developing emergency response plans, maintaining business continuity, risk and compliance management & regulatory controls for business requirements regarding security and safety and scenario preparedness. .
- Drive security programs, training, initiatives for employees and other key stakeholders on security matters, protocols, emergency procedures and safety measures.
- Incident Management and reporting of physical and safety matters including conducting thorough analysis to identify root causes of security related incidents and recommend preventive measures to mitigate future risks.
- Investigation of internal incidents, security incidents, policy violations to determine circumstances, ascertain facts, determine responsibility and recommend appropriate actions and remedial measures.
- Collaborate and coordinate with law enforcement agencies to provide information, witness statements or evidence related incidents that may require legal intervention.
- Daily monitoring of security systems, cameras, footage for proper functioning and further, report any malfunctions, irregularities, breaches or incidents to the appropriate authorities and management for prompt resolution.
- Regularly conduct security risk assessments, security snap checks to deter criminal activity, determine potential security risks and vulnerabilities, implementing measures to mitigate and prevent security threats.
- Relationship management and engagement of key stake holders: Internal and external, customers, third party service providers, law enforcement and government agencies.
- Collection and analysis of security intelligence and issuing security alerts as and when called upon.
- Safeguard sensitive information and maintain confidentiality especially in matters related to security and investigations.
- Resolve conflicts and disturbances in a calm and professional manner whilst minimizing disruptions to the Bank’ operations.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a University Degree in relevant business discipline
- At least two years of experience in security operations
- Computer skills, decision making skills.
- Observation skills and attention to detail

- Conflict resolution skills
- Communication; oral and written.
- Knowledge of security systems
- Critical thinking
