Avanti Energy Services Limited (Avanti) is a Ugandan national company, which engages in providing services to the upstream oil and gas production industry within Uganda. Avanti was awarded a contract by a major oil and gas service company to source and employ in excess of 100 Ugandan engineers, technicians, operators and laborers to support their oil drilling operations within Uganda.
Job Summary: The HSE Assistant will collect, identify, and implement local HSE laws, regulations, standards and other requirements, follow and implement HSE management system
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and revise project HSE program, coordinate and supervise the implementation of HSE program in all departments and rig crews.
- Organize the HSE audit and management review, and be responsible for supervision and inspection of corrective and preventive measures, and verification of the effect.
- Responsible for statistics, compilation and delivery of HSE Performance.
- Responsible for the collection and communication of party A’s safety warnings, and compile and issue safety warnings (in English and Chinese) according to the information of accidents and near-misses submitted by the drilling team.
- Assist the Human Resources Section in handling medical reports and managing information on injured persons.
- Responsible for on-site inspection and supervision, timely discover hidden dangers and violation of regulations and other phenomena and timely deal with them. It shall have the right to stop construction operations if there are major hidden dangers.
- Responsible for coordinating with the human resources department to prepare training materials according to the needs of site safety production.
- Responsible for organizing service project negotiations with third- party service providers and drafting service agreements.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- One year of experience
- Safety Management related major
- Good interpersonal skills
- Approved safety certificate
- Chinese proficiency (preferred)
