Job Summary: Enabel in Uganda is seeking to recruit dynamic and competent individuals to fill the position of Vocational Training Institute (VTI) Transformation Officer based in Kampala
The VTI Transformation Officer will partner with the project identified training institutions to ensure they have developed and implemented strategic business plans as well as roadmaps towards achievement of the desired Center of Excellence status
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Joining Enabel as a VTI Transformation Officer, you will be directly reporting to the Project Manager – We Work , Kampala and you will perform the following key tasks:
- You will Collaborate with private sector for meaningful partnerships in areas such as, labour market responsive training – short term non formal programmes/courses, support to industrial experience and practical teaching, etc.
- You will work towards improving the teaching and learning approaches – such as greening of current courses, practical teaching, Work based learning & placements, eLearning, integrated entrepreneurship, 21st century skills (Life Long Learning – eSkills, life skills)
- You will lead on Capacity building and institutional development of partner training institutions towards the respective CoE statuses and running different business models
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Master’s degree in Vocational Studies, Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) Studies, Business Administration, Social sciences, Social Work and Social Administration; or any other related field
- At least 5 years’ proven experience in capacity building and institutional development in the TVET sector;
- A least 3 years’ proven experience in implementing skills development projects in an international organisation;
- Facilitating and managing organisational change processes;
- Management for Results and Project Cycle Management;
- Knowledge management and capitalisation;
- Working in teams and relationship building.
- Excellent interpersonal skills allowing to interact and work with vulnerable youth and women, as well as private sector actors and other (high-level) stakeholders.
- Creative thinking and being pro-active i.e. taking initiatives and responsibility at the same time
- Good working knowledge of ICT technologies (related software, phone, email) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office).
