Job Summary: The Head, Data and Devices will be responsible for the data, device portfolio and team by developing a strategy aligned to the overall business strategy to attain leadership in data revenues and smartphone penetration for the company.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recommend changes to products and services based on the analysis of the trends and patterns identified in the real-time operational performance data.
- Ensure effective Program management of new Product delivery, new enhancements to existing products & and initiatives, ensure adherence to Governance structures & and processes & the Product and Innovation Lifecycle Management (PILM)
- Ensure Revenue and Customer Management for data customers
- Ensure that Devices strategy and execution tie to the overall company strategy to drive data growth
- Ensure that Strategic alliances and partnerships drive Airtel’s positioning as an Internet company and hence drive overall growth of Data in Airtel Uganda
- Support in Data Process and product configuration within marketing hence reducing risk and fraud exposure
- Responsible for leading Data Revenue Managers, NPD managers, and Device manager alliance including mentoring & and coaching activities
- Develop overall OpCo products strategy in conjunction with the Marketing director and marketing heads and with input from the Airtel group.
- Maintain the Overall (Data and devices) Product Master Plan (PMP) across segments.
- Manage, design, implement and maintain a prioritization matrix of all initiatives across segments
- Implementation planning for Group Top 5 Products.
- Ensure establishment & and adherence to product governance structures & and processes to drive compliance.

- Any other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
- Post-graduate qualification (e.g., business/commercial economics, business administration, computer science or Information Technology and engineering).
- Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in a marketing position, with a focus on product development and project Management.
- Minimum of 3 years of general management experience
- Experience of the Telecommunications Industry, Analytical and data mining skills (Efficiency in SQL) or Engineering working environment
- Experience in managing the Product & Innovation Life Cycle & Processes in TELCO’s would be preferred
- Technical and Commercial experience in a Telco environment
- Able to operate in a performance-driven organization
- Excellent Project management or Program management proven experience
