Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• To assess, price and determine terms for risks presented within set standards of service to ensure quality selection of risks and timely service.
• Co-ordinate at least one training for the underwriters and agents per quarter
• Conduct at least one risk survey inspection per week.
• Maintain Engineering and fire gross loss ratio as per company standards
• Visiting sites alone or with underwriters or intermediaries
• Assessing and evaluating risk to buildings, employees, or customers by undertaking appropriate research
• Carrying out detailed site surveys
• Writing and explaining reports to underwriters and intermediaries
• Providing advice to clients and making recommendations about required risk improvements.
• Assigning quality grades after improvements have been made.
• Liaising with health and safety inspectors, clients, insurance brokers and underwriters
• Collecting photographs as evidence
• Maintaining awareness of changes in legislation and trading processes
• Providing the underwriting team with loss estimates (probable maximum loss / estimated maximum loss)

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• The applicant must hold an Honours Degree (Hons): Civil Engineering (Required), Honours Degree  (Hons): Engineering Electrical Engineering (Required), Honours Degree  (Hons): Mechanical Engineering (Required)
• Skills: Insurance, Photography, Price Management, Probable Maximum Loss (PML), Researching, Risk Assessments, Risk Surveys, Site Surveying, Teamwork, Underwriting, Writing
