Lutheran World Federation (LWF) Uganda is part of the LWF World Service and we are currently supporting Congolese and South-Sudanese refugees living in settlements in the districts of Kamwenge, Adjumani, Moyo, Kyangwali and Lamwo respectively.

 

Job Summary:   The Project Assistant – Case Management Supervisor will provide grassroot support to caseworkers during case management, case plan implementation, monitoring and documentation of all GBV cases, generate reports in different forms and share data as per the information sharing protocol and assume the responsibilities given under the purpose in accordance with a well-defined framework of policies and procedures under immediate supervision.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee GBV case management processes, ensuring all tasks are accurately recorded and executed within the ProgresV4 system.
  • Provide comprehensive supervision to GBV case workers, ensuring timely and survivor-centered responses in alignment with established standards and procedures.
  • Conduct regular training sessions, coaching, and mentorship for GBV case workers, aligning with the GBV case management SOP.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal sectors and external partners to deliver holistic and survivor-centered GBV case management services.
  • Coordinate and facilitate timely case conferences for complex GBV cases, collaborating closely with the GBV Officer for risk mitigation strategies.
  • Generate, compile, and submit standard statistical reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis, reviewing data for accuracy and identifying improvement areas.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality of all GBV information, managing the GBVIMS database by overseeing data entry, archiving, and backup procedures.
  • Provide technical expertise in GBV case management, ensuring staff receive necessary training and updates on the ProgresV4 system.
  • Organize and lead regular meetings, supervision sessions, and peer support groups for GBV caseworkers to enhance performance and address challenges.
  • Monitor GBV case trends, analyzing data to inform program strategies, and ensuring adherence to established protocols and principles.
  • Manage and address staff gaps and training need to prevent service gaps in GBV case management, collaborating with senior management for support.
  • Review and adjust staff caseloads to maintain manageable workloads, sharing challenges and recommendations with the GBV officer.
  • Monitor and track response timescales, decision-making processes, follow-ups, and case reviews for effective GBV case management.
  • Facilitate access to material resources and additional technical support, setting eligibility criteria for such support within the GBV case management framework.
  • Foster community integration and established partnerships with UNHCR, OPM, and other agencies for coordinated GBV case documentation, ensuring a comprehensive approach to support.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant for this placement should preferably hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Psychology, guidance and counselling, social work and social administration, social sciences, development studies, Gender or any related fields.
  • At least three years of experience in providing SGBV case management;
  • Ability to ride with a valid Class A driving permit
  • Competent skills in information management including MS Packages, ProGres V4, SurveyCTO
  • Knowledge of GBV, child protection and PSS basic principles;
  • Knowledge of GBV case management principles;
  • Demonstrated experience in working on women’s protection such as empowerment programs, reproductive health, counselling, etc.
  • Previous experience in working with communities, running GBV prevention curricula, raising awareness and providing services in shelters and village settings.
  • Good communication and psychosocial first aid skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
