Job Summary: We are seeking for a talented and creative Graphics Designer to join our Communications Department in Kampala. As a Graphics Designer, you will play a crucial role in visually communicating our organization’s message, objectives, and campaigns through innovative and compelling design elements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design visually compelling graphics for digital campaigns, social media content, infographics, newsletters, reports, and other promotional materials.
- Conceptualize and execute original designs aligned with Unwanted Witness branding guidelines and messaging.
- Work closely with the communications team to develop creative strategies and ideas for visual storytelling.
- Produce high-quality infographics, illustrations, logos, presentations, and other visual materials.
- Stay updated on design trends, best practices, and tools to enhance the organization’s visual identity.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously and adhere to deadlines.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor of Industrial and Fine Arts or equivalent experience in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- Proven experience (2 years) working as a graphics designer, preferably within a communications or digital rights-focused organization.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, lnDesign, etc.) and other relevant design software. Knowledge of video editing
- Demonstrated creativity and originality in design concepts with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interpret and translate ideas into visually appealing designs.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
