Reports to: Manager, IT Operations
About US:
Uganda Airlines is the flag carrier of Uganda. The company is a revival of the older Uganda Airlines which operated from 1977 until 2001. It began flying in August 2019.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Training and coaching from IT professionals in all aspects of systems automation, end-user support, and application development.
- Available for receiving and logging user requests, incidents, and problems affecting all IT services.
- Conduct initial diagnosis, troubleshooting, fixing IT issues, or escalating incidents and/or problems to 2nd and 3rd-level support functions in the company.
- Measure and report IT team performance providing metrics for systems availability, and reliability.
- Identification, recommending, receiving, storing, and distribution of desktop equipment and software required by staff to effectively function in an officer environment.
- Install patches, and optimize desktop equipment, office applications, and tools as guided by Systems and Network administrators.
- Support end-users in the automation of routine and repetitive tasks automation
- Work with IT systems Developers, to design and develop business applications and/or web/mobile solutions.
- Document application codes and user guides
- Train end users in the recommended use of IT solutions and services as guided by the IT Systems developer, systems and Network Administrators
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must be an ongoing Student of IT, computer science, or Engineering in either the second, 3rd, or 4th Year of study at a recognized University
- One year of study completed at the University
- Available to learn and work at the same time.
- Pleasant personality who is willing and able to listen to and understand user challenges and problems.
- Interests in Research and root-cause analysis
- Organization and record-keeping skills.
- Reports and performance analysis skills
