Job Summary: The Finance Officer will provide operational, financial, regulatory information and quality financial support service to management through the collection, analysis, processing, interpretation and communication of financial information for financial reporting and decision making while ensuring compliance to all relevant financial standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Liaising with business unit heads in production and analysis of financial data for financial reporting.
- Undertaking preparation of monthly reporting to management, the holding company, regulators and other stakeholders.
- Monitoring of budgetary control systems and analysis of budget variances.
- Providing a monthly analytical reports and commentary on financial performance.
- Undertake the preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Monitoring and reporting on compliance with financial controls including fixed asset management.
- Ensuring compliance with corporate and country financial practices.
- Responding directly to management level queries.
- Providing support to the business when preparing or evaluating new proposals (new contracts, revisions of contracts, investment decisions).
- Any other duties assigned by management from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related fields.
- Professional qualifications in accounting e.g. ACCA, CPA etc., though part qualification is acceptable.
- One year of relevant experience, preferably in the Banking / Financial Industry.
- Understanding of Financial Reporting and related standards.
- Understanding of Financial modelling and fore-casting.
- Solid grasp of the Bank’s Policies, Processes and Procedures relating to Finance.
- Solid grasp of the Bank’s business model, its strategy and its products and services.
- Solid grasp and interpretation of industrial and national economic trends.

- Excellent Computer Skills including MS Office Suite and specifically advanced skills in MS Excel
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
