Job Summary: The Artisan will install, configure, maintain, repair and optimize plant and associated devices to ensure plant availability and product quality at minimum cost whilst maintaining standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment
- Comply with safety, health and environmental procedures and legislation
- Maintain safety and housekeeping standards
- Install, Maintain, repair and optimise plant and associated devices
- Locate plant, equipment, spares and relevant documentation systems
- Plan and prepare the job
- Carry out repairs or maintenance
- Continuously improve (optimise) plant, process equipment and systems
- Work in Teams
- Communicate effectively in teams
- Contribute to self and team development
- Apply 5S standards and practices in the workplace
- Operate and control the process according to SOP’s
- Participate in and coach autonomous operations
- Support quality at source
- Improve personal competence and flexibility
- Apply problem solving processes
- Utilise loss & waste and short interval control to identify problems
- Apply problem solving techniques to resolve situational problems
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Two years of experience in an FMCG factory
- Good knowledge of production processes and technologies
- Familiarity with maintenance systems e.g. COSWIN
- Influencing ability with regards to sound maintenance practices
- Knowledge of PLC and Siemens is added an advantage
