aBi Development’s focus is to increase agricultural production & value addition by extending matching grants & Business Development Services (BDS) to agribusinesses, farmer organisations & intermediaries to enhance planning & management, production & business infrastructure, as well as upstream & downstream market linkages of producers & agribusinesses.
Job Summary: The Office Assistant will provide housekeeping services to aBi Development Ltd, serving refreshments to visitors and employees and ensuring a safe and clean office environment. The role involves mainly maintaining office welfare, managing and support daily activities to enhance office cleanliness and timely delivery of official correspondences and service delivery.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the routine cleaning and maintenance of the offices; ensuring that they are clean and attractive at all times
- Prepare and serve tea and refreshments to staff and aBi visitors
- Provide clerical support to the aBi staff that allow for smooth running of the business.
- Provide access to the office space in a timely and effective manner to authorized persons.
- To provide a safe and secure office environment for staff and guest who access the office premises.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold an Advanced Certificate in Education (UACE) with two principal passes
- Certificate in Catering will be desirable
- At least one year of office experience or experience in a similar role
- Proficiency in general office services and functions required
- Proficiency in the operation and use of office tools/ equipment; and an understanding of internal work processes, protocols and procedures.
- Ability to learn quickly and adopt to changing requirements in a work environment
- Fluency in spoken English and Luganda required
- Good communication skills (verbal, written, telephone)
- Dependability and attention to detail
- Good customer care and self-presentation
