Job Title:  Finance Associate (Maternity Cover)

Organisation: National Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda (NUDIPU)

Duty Station:  Kampala, Uganda

Reports to: Finance Manager

 

About US:

National Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda (NUDIPU) is an umbrella Organization of persons with disabilities in Uganda that started in 1987 to ensure Dignity for all persons with disabilities. NUDIPU’s membership includes Disabled Peoples Organizations (DPOs) and District Unions. Currently, NUDIPU has a membership of 14 National Organizations of Persons with disabilities and over 112 Cross Disability District Unions.  Nudipu’s Vision of a just and a fair society where persons with disabilities live a prosperous and dignified life and her Mission is to advocate for the rights of persons with disability in a unified voice for improved livelihood.

 

Job Summary:   The Finance Associate will support the finance function while the finance officer is on maternity leave with compliance of NUDIPU policies & procedures, donor requirement and legal regulations. The jobholder is responsible for the day-to-day financial and operational activities as maybe assigned by the Finance Manager.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The maternity cover-Finance Associate will work closely with the Finance Manager and other finance officers to help build a robust financial management system of NUDIPU.

  • To Support the finance team for preparation of donor project financial reports
  • To support bank reconciliation by 10th of next months for project accounts under your care.
  • Accurately post transactions into the accounting system within the month they are incurred for the projects and accounts that you will be charged with.
  • To ensure all the supporting documents are completed before the final payment.
  • Participate in the preparation of final organization account in preparation for annual external auditor.
  • To ensure that, all the software transaction is 100% correct with chart of account, budget code & activity code.
  • Timely prepare internal financial report (BVA) & budget and share with the respective program officer.
  • Support in conducting both project & consolidated external Audit.
  • Other tasks as may be assigned by finance Manager.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in a Management/Finance/Account with at least CPA level III.
  • At least three years of experience in the NGO/INGO
  • high level experience in financial management system of restricted donor funding agency.
  • High level of Experience with Computer skills (Windows, Power Point, Word, Outlook, and Internet), with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Proven experience with Advanced QuickBooks online accounting software.

 

Duration of the contract:  Fixed 4 Month period from the date signing of the contract as a maternity cover-Finance Associate.
