Focusing on potato and sweetpotato as the entry point, CIP’s programs seek to strengthen broader agri-food systems to generate economic, social and nutritional benefits for farmers, enterprises and consumers emphasizing the priorities of women and youth in particular.

 

About Project:

The International Potato Center (CIP) under work package 3 of the Market Intelligence Initiative and the SweetGAINS project is conducting research for development study aimed at promoting sustainable adoption of improved sweetpotato varieties by using behavioral interventions. The study targets sweetpotato farmers in Amuria district, Eastern Region of Uganda. This activity is aimed at conducting an endline household survey to assess the adoption of improved sweetpotato varieties among a random sample of households who have participated in the study since December 2021.

 

Job Summary:   The Consultant will supervise a team of enumerators conducting an endline households survey using tablets. The Supervisor for Household Survey in Amuria District will manage a team of enumerators conducting an endline household survey in Amuria district.

 

Key Deliverables

  • Household survey data collected in Amuria district approved for consistency, accuracy, and completeness by the Supervisor.
  • A field report detailing key observations, challenges encountered and how resolved, and opportunities seized to enhance the efficiency of the





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Agriculture, Agribusiness Management, Economics, Statistics, and other related fields.
  • At least three years of experience.
  • Data collection skills, and use of tablets to collect data.
  • Experience with vine distribution process, and/or implementing CIP vine distribution activities.
  • Demonstrated soft/interpersonal skills, a collaborative spirit and effective teamwork capabilities.
  • Proficiency in English and either or both Ateso and Langi languages.
