Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Guides, coordinates and determines the educational plans and programs within the Limitations set by the education authorities and the Governing Council.
- Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates the teaching programs and activities of the staff and students to ensure their proper and harmonious implementation.
- Ensures proper planning, budgeting and accountability of the institutional activities’ resources.
- Ensures proper management of institutional resources to ensure their rational utilization and safety.
- Initiates development projects for the institution and mobilize resources for their implementation.
- Supports research and reviews necessary for the update of the institution’s teaching curriculum.
- Supervises, guides and ensures ethical and professional conduct of staff and students.
- Supervises and appraises all the staff and employees of the institution and assess their performance.
- Coordinate with the Ministry of Education and Sports, Nurses and Midwifery Council Uganda and the Nurses and Midwifery Examination’s Board.
- Prepares progress and summary reports for presentation and submission to the University senate and council.
- Performs any other duties assigned by the relevant university authority.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Master’s Degree in the relevant field of training,
- Bachelors in Medical Education and OR Bachelor’s degree in nursing or Midwifery.
- Diploma in Health Tutorship from a recognized Institution.
- A Minimum of six (6) years of teaching experience in the relevant health field.
- Able to be a team player
- Clean track record.
- Registered with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council.
- Respect of diversity and culture.
